When I am stressed, anxious, worried and overwhelmed, I use a simple tool that changes my experience almost instantly.
It is called the Thought detox or the Brain dump.
First: I remember that all my feelings are created with my thoughts. My experience of life is reflected within my consciousness. Then I sit down and take 10-15 min and put everything that is swirling in my brain on paper.
I mean EVERYTHING.
- What I worry about…
- What I am overwhelmed by…
- What I am afraid of…
- What scares me…
- What I am excited about…What I am looking forward to
ALL of it.
By channelling my thoughts on paper I detach myself from them.
I become the observer.
I see those thoughts for what they are:
Sentences in my brain.
I feel the energetic shift. I start to intentionally change my thinking even if it feels “made up”.
I ask myself what it is I WANT TO THINK about ON PURPOSE.
I feel better. I now create my reality.
Warning:
It might feel worse at one point because you realize…no wonder I FEEL a certain way because I am thinking all these thoughts…and you might have the tendency to beat yourself up for it.
Don’t! It is a thought error.
Before EDITING and changing your thoughts, you need to learn how to feel them first.
Open yourself up to the anxiety and overwhelm until YOU can control them.
Then you can change your thoughts!
You are always in charge of your experience.
But I promise: Detoxing and Editing your thoughts is not a waste of time, it is the foundation of an amazing life.
It can help you to declutter your brain and finally put all the necessary things inside your head together.
Even 5-10 minutes in your daily routine will make a significant difference.
