How to Let Go
This past weekend I was exchanging with my mentor and friend Kosta Stoyanoff, a spiritual guide & speaker who combines his background as a physical trainer, therapist and spiritual leader to share his experience on how to live more “free and lightly”.
I soaked up so much of his wisdom that I just had to share it with you.
One of the things we talked about and also something I see so often with my clients is:
What does this mean? Well, when people first come to me for guidance, they mention what they want but they spend a lot more time and energy telling me why they cannot have it or what is in their way. And also that it HAS to be a particular way. An Ideal Outcome. They are so focused on the perfect scenario that this is the only way they can imagine it.
Of course knowing our desires and needs is part of getting clear but our attachment to the ideal picture actually blocks our progress.
A result of being attached to a specific outcome is CONTROL. We often try to control things because of what we think will happen if we don’t. In other words, control is rooted in FEAR.
What if I lose? What if the deal doesn’t go through? What if I am rejected? What if my project fails? What if, what if what if……
When we trust that we’re okay no matter what circumstances come our way, we don’t need to micro-manage the universe. We let go. We open ourselves to all sorts of wonderful possibilities that aren’t there when we’re attached to one “right” path.
Surrender literally means to stop fighting. Stop fighting with yourself. Stop fighting the universe and the natural flow of things. Stop resisting and pushing against reality.
Surrender = Complete acceptance of what is + Faith that all is well, even without YOUR input.
Start focusing harder for your DREAMS, your POTENTIAL your VISIONS instead on focusing on what is NOT going well and constructing UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS of an IDEAL OUTCOME. Let go of your FEARs and step into your LIGHT.
I understand that sometimes there are circumstances that can make it seem like we do not have choices about certain things.
But you have the choice to give significance to any circumstance.
Remember: There is no failure, only feedback from the universe.
The real question is: What do YOU choose to experience?
Today I encourage you to think about of what you are attached to. Consider what you are doing in your life because you are wishing for a specific outcome and all the thought patterns you keep repeating around a situation, circumstance or person you wish was different. Channel your Inner wisdom and enjoy the calmness that comes from detaching from how you think life should be and embracing the life that is waiting for you.
Many blessings and much love,
“The privilege of a lifetime is becoming who you are.”
